1997 Olds Cutlass Supreme 3.1 litre 98000 kms My wife's Olds Cutlass has just started acting unusual. When it has warmed up after a while, when I step on the accelerator softly, the car hesitates and the speedometer cuts out, only intermittently though. If I press harder on the pedal, it seems fine. It happens most when I am trying to maintain a constant speed. The tachometer doesn't cut out, it stays at a fairly constant reading, although as I was traveling at 80 km/h, the car cut out a lot, and when it came back on after a split second, the rpm had to increase to recover the car's speed. I have owned a lot of cars, and have never seen anything like this before. Any ideas?

Could it be the speed sensor? I see a lot of people had the same problem.
