Crazymy son bought this car a year ago and ever since he has it has been hard to start.now here is what it does when you turn the car over it immediately starts but dies, but if you dont let off the key and continue to try to start the starter turns over faster for like 2 seconds then starts turning over like normal if you still hold the key in statr and never let off the car will start and run perfect.this takes about 30 to 40 seconds of contiually turning starter over until it starts.i have tried the relearn process and it did not cure problem, the theft light never goes out on dash or blink it just stays on,please help with ideas thanks

I would have the fuel system tested; as in the proper pressures during cranking, running and after the engine is off.
Also check for external or internal fuel leaks; hence the testing of fuel pressure leak down; after the engine is turned off.

That fuel pressure has to be tested during that period when it's not starting. Testing it after the car is started doesn't tell you anything.
Also note if the pressure holds when the key is shut off.

That test is abreviated KOEO or "key on, engine off" -- that's the pressure it has for starting,
