engine just started running really rough..missfires real bad on acceleration..no engine light..it has a v6 in it..isnt there a way to cycle the key a few times to get a fault reading..car has 188,000 on it..replaed plugs 3 yrs ago..just curious why no engine light but it runs like hell

AutoZone and others may offer free code readings in your area. This is OBDII and not sure you can fake it with this car by itself. Even without code there should be something stored just waiting to put the light on soon.

The reading could really help and save some time and wasted parts to find this problem,

well i have had bad luck with autozone..another thing i noticed is that when at idle it donst missfire..only when under a load..like in drive or reverse..but the idle does ssem to slighly go up and down when in park at idle

Ok - it's running rough and misfiring. You really should get a code reading from someplace - I don't care where you go and get full stream with a printout if possible. The results might come back that the machine simply can't communicate and that alone is worth knowing. There should be info there that will help and the SES light will be on soon enough if running poorly anyway.

If you refuse to do that then just start tossing parts - plugs, wires, injectors, filters - keep going till you hit it,

well i cleaned out the throttle body real good with carb cleaner and its running like brand new now..
