1996 Dodge Dakota V6 slow start when cold Sign In

I have a similar problem as Roger's 1998 Durango ie I have a 1996 Dodge Dakota with V6 engine and about 101,000 miles. It started taking more cranking before starting when cold a few months ago. I replaced plugs, distributor cap and wires but no improvement. Always starts and runs good just takes longer than it should to start. When it's warm it starts like normal (within a half hour). If its a fuel pressure problem (need help on how to determine if it is), what does it require to fix it?
Thank you,
Jaytee

You need to hook up a fuel pressure gauge before starting the car and watch how fast it comes up to regulated pressure when you start cranking.

You also have to watch the pressure after the pump turns off to see if it holds for a certain period of time. If it drops off like a rock, then you have a rest pressure issue.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I just got the pressure testing completed! Its 50, however, it fell like a rock ( in 2 seconds it was gone)!
Since you suggest I have a "REST" pressure issue - what is the most likely cause?
Here is something I dscovered - when I turn the key on, the pressure begins to build prior to starting.

Thgat's what you have to determine now. Where is it leaking to. You have to pinch off lines at various point while there is pressure on them until you find out what direction it's going. It could be going back through the pump, out a stuck injector or through a bad regulator.
