Is it steady like same cylinder or random misfire? Ever better or worse like when cold or warm? T

Yes - coil pack(s) also control spark and could leak it out causing misfire. Might even be seen if misted with water especially if darker lighting, T

They can be bad without sparking but if they do it's a dead give-a-way that something is wrong right there, T

Tossing stuff on a maybe get expensive as you just found out. If there was spark at the plug end the coil was producing spark! If plug wire left unhooked a bad/weak spot would leak out current - perhaps unseen. Gotta go for a little while here. Notes: This may not be a spark issue at all - The spark plugs effected if soaked in gas may not fire even with proper spark. Heated off car or toaster oven can fix a wet plug if not firing. They will air dry but the fuel can still conduct electricity unseen and not make a spark. Must be heated out of them if that's now happening. Compression of suspect or all cylinders may be in order now, T

Plugs may look similar and be totally wrong - can't say except unless listed as an alternative # they should be the right ones. Heat range, resistance and designed to accept recommended gap among differences not necessarily seen comparing them by just looks. Anyway - did they all look the same wear and condition wise? T
