1995 nissan maxima se Sign In

my car bucks bad then shuts off. sometimes it turns back on but turns rite back off again. put it on a comp. and it gave me these codes. p0100 mass air flow, p0733 gear 3 incorrect ratio, p1320 manuf. misfire, p1335 misfire, p1400 manuf. control aux. emission controls (egr solenoid). these are the codes that were given to me. could 1 or 2 of these be causing all these other codes

Do you have a K&N air filter on this?

Re: 1995 nissan maxima se Sign In

You want to approach these codes one at a time and clear the others as you resolve them starting with the Mass Air Flow code. That's the one causing the driveabilty problems. Make sure you don't have a plugged up converter causing that.

The sensor could be bad but it really need to be diagnosed accurately. Having a scan tool would be very helpful. Make sure there are no holes or leaks in the intake snorkel between the sensor and the throttle body.

Not necessarily.......... Remove it and see if there is any carbon caught in the pintle preventing it from closing all the way. The whole system would have to be tested. There are other components to the EGR system.

Re: 1995 nissan maxima se Sign In

Well, that depends on whether he knows what he's doing or not. Just having a code set referring to those items does not automatically mean the item is the cause. It needs to be diagnosed properly to determine the real cause.
