1995 jeep cherokee 4.0l just cranks, no strart.

truck cranks but wont start. checked for spark with a plug tester, no spark from wires, took coil wire from distributer cap, and checked with tester, and got nothing. could it be the crank sensor thats on top or the tranny, or the cam sensor thats inside the distributor? or am i way off?
