1995 eclipse flywheel to clutch pack

Year of vehicle- 1995
Make of vehicle- mitsubishi
Model of vehicle- Eclipse
We just put in a new engine and I cant get the clutch pack to line up with the flywheel. i can get two cross bolts in then the other two wont line up?? HELPPP

That would mean that you have the wrong pressure plate or flywheel.

Its the same flywheel from the old engine and the clutch is new aand for that car??

Keep rotating the pressure plate & check all different possibilities.
Those plates have a lot of different holes & you may be using the wrong ones....

Im just curious... I dunno if you already knew but they have a 6 bolt motor and a 7 bolt motor. find out if its the same as you had. I made this mistake myself its not hard to do if you dont know.

He said he used the same flywheel from the old engine.

right but if he had the 7 bolt motor before and bought a 6 bolt swap the flywheels could mount differently

It's not the flywheel that he has the problem with. Please read the question before answering. the flywheel is on the engine. It's the pressure plate to flywheel he has a problem with and that can only mean the wrong pressure plate, assuming he's using the right holes.

Now I'm confused.....Is he having trouble bolting the pressure plate to the flywheel or the flywheel to the engine???
