1995 Chevy Lumina Question

Car has a 3.1L Engine. I just bought it. Car has 171,000 miles on it and I would saying runs very good. It has a small oil leak at the Oil Drive Gear on top of the engine. I've had a few people say it would cost $400 to get fixed at dealer. The ring itself cost $2. They say the intake has to come off along with other parts. Just wondering if any of this is true or any other options available. It's not leaking bad, but I'm the kind of person that since I know its not right, it bothers me...l...Thanks In Advance
