1994 Ford F 150 4.9 manual trans Sign In

I have a truck that died a year ago on the hiway . Ordered a used computer put it in fuel pump running all the time and truck still wouldn't start took it out sent it back got another fuel pump cycles but truck still won't start. Took out spout truck will start and run on 3 cylinders but wont idle. Have check Injectors, wiring, coil, grounds run continuity on wiring. Had module checked at parts store it checked good. This is the second computer in 2 years. Is something snapping them or is there another problem. Have went bald working on truck LOL. Need some help

Can hook a ground up to injectors not firing and tap it to battery and they will fire while truck is running.

antique; You say it's running on 3 cylinders. Which three? What's the compression readings on all of the cylinders? Any trouble codes? When it died, originally, what were the symptoms? Just shut off? Under load, ect?
What do the spark plugs look like? Fouled, dry, ect?

Spark plugs are new now but had alot of gap. 3 were wet 3 were dry and 2 4 & 6 are firing and 1 3 and 5 are dry. Just changed oil 60 miles before truck died . Was going down a hill and truck bucked a couple of times and died and wouldn't start.

1,3,5 are right next to each other in the firing order, as well as 6,2, & 4. Take a real close look at the inside of the distributor cap for carbon tracking. Long shot, but possible. Possibly, got wet? Also, check injectors for resistance. I can get you the specs if you need them. You will be looking for one or more with an open or excessive resistance.

We have checked all of that. Checked the3 injectors for continuity checked them with power checked the dist. cap. It's like the injectors are stuck on the 2,4,6 spot and not switching to 1,3 ,5.

What are the resistance readings of the injectors? I can look up specs, but usually around 13. Not sure how these are wired, but possible a shorted injector or circuit could take down 1/2 of them.
