1994 Chevy Camaro v6 3.4 liter question (Engine Clicks)

I bought a 1994 Chevy Camaro that has a v6, 3.4 liter engine in it, and everytime that i try to start it up, it starts, but it has a click and everytime you try to rev the engine or drive the clicking keeps on and sometimes it stalls. Can anyone help me on what it may be? My friend thinks that there may be a broken push rod, or the push rod may of slipped out. What do you think or know it is

I'm thinking lifter sticking but as in any case a visual inspection would help.
