I'm not sure if this is a engine problem or a transmission problem. Here's goes...My car was running fine, I'm not sure what happen. I was on the freeway, I got struck in heavy traffic. Then my car lost power, I tried flooring it. I was only going slowly, but it would slowly speed up. Then it started to over heat ( I guess when I tried flooring it the rpms was going too high) I pulled over and waited about 15-20 or so, then I when straight home. The scary thing was my brakes got really hard, where it was hard to stop. Now, the next morning I went to see what was wrong ( Everything was fine). I noticed that it runs great when cold, but as soon as it warms up it starts losing power. When it does lack power it comes and goes. What I mean is it starts to lose power, ( I'm going like 20-30 mph) then goes back to normal. Please help! I'm trying to find out what it could be before going to a car shop! I always have bad luck!

I think it might be a problem with your brakes. My fiend had a similar problem with his car - loss of power, overheating. The problem was that the brakes got stuck when he pushed the brake pedal a few times. Then if the car stays for a few minutes, the brakes realease and everything is ok again. So my advice would be: When it starts losing power, make sure it is a loss of power and not the brakes Just switch no neutral when driving and look if the car runs freely on neutral or does it tend to stop fast. That's the only thing that comes into my mind... Hope it helps. ___________________________________________ You can paint it any color, so long as it's black

Agree that this might be a brake problem. Had a brand new master cylinder that I put in that was machined wrong and wouldn't allow fluid to release pressure but did do it cold. See if the wheels get to warm without overuse of the brakes and be careful as they can get real hot, T
