I have a 1993 Chevy G20 conversion van. The vehicle won't change out of first gear. For a long time there were two "idiot" lights that came on just a little under the speedometer numbers. One of them said "ABS" and the other said "Brakes" (I think). When the problem occurs the word "Brakes" light goes off, (the ABS light stays on constantly) the power windows stop working, and the fan for my airconditioner/heater stops working. Until a few weeks ago I could solve the problem by turning the vehicle off and then resarting it and it apparently reset itself and would work fine. However, as said, recently I would turn the vehicle off and it would not reset and has not worked since. Incidently, when all this happened recently, I could turn the ignition switch 3/4 of the way and both those lights, the windows, and the fan would work but when I turned the ignition the rest of the way (starting the vehicle) it would kick back into the non-working mode. Someone suggested to us that it was the rear sensor so we replaced one of these, the one which connects to the transmission but it didn't correct the problem. I can replace the other rear sensor but does anyone have any thoughts before I follow that course? Thanks.
