Does anyone have an electrical diagram for the TBI injector system on a 1993 Chevy K1500 5.7 L?

Thanks and regards,

Howard

Check for spark as well. If you have no spark, no injector pulse, power to coil and injector, and good fuel pressure, chances are you are missing a tach signal to the computer. This would be a pickup inside the distributor and or ignition module.
If you have spark, just no injector pulse, make sure you have power to injector. If you do, then you may have a bad wire or the computer may have a burned out injector driver and needs to be replaced.

P.S. If you end up replacing the pickup, do the module while you're there.

Hi Steve and thanks for the quick reply. All fuses -- inside the truck and under the hood -- are ok. I have fuel pressure right to the injectors. I opened the top of the injector assembly and fuel spurts right to the hole that the injectors screw into. I have a bright spark. In fact, I can crank the engine on starter fluid. I replaced the manifold absolute pressure switch -- made no difference. I checked the oil pressure switch and it was ok. I replaced the computer-- made no difference.

At this point I'm still assuming that the injectors are good since I had them checked a few weeks before the truck just stopped cranking -- it was loping pretty bad when idling or moving at really low speeds so I had them checked -- and they were fine. Also, I figure that both of them, or both of their return wires, failing simultaneously would be statistically unlikely. I have no experience however so that may be what usually happens. Is it?

Most of the sensors look like they effect the tune of the engine and don't act as absolute "interlocks". Are there any of them that are absolutley required before the computer will pulse the injectors?

Thanks in advance,

Howard

With everything that you say you’ve done and if you have power at the injector’s white and red wires try replacing the Ignition module. I’m not sure what happens but I’ve chased one of these around and even though I had spark the ignition module was still at fault.
Like I said I can’t explain it but the ignition module had some form of effect on injector pulse.

Thanks Dan. I'll take a look at that this evening.

Thanks and regards,

Howard
