What would have gone bad if someone had sliced into the Red & Green wires (that plug into the coil) at the same time, shorting them out to each other while it was running?_ And now It no longer runs! The engine cranks over but there is no spark coming from the coil?...

How that happened sound like vandalism or some wild mistake. Not sure but if all back where it should be the coil might have take the hit? Test coil for a beginning is my first suggestion,

What engine does the car have?

Probably will fry the coil driver in the igniter if it didn't blow a fusible link. Check for power at the coil connector (black/red wire) with the ignition on.
