GMC K1500 SLE
5.7 148,000 miles

It was running great up till a few days ago. It has new plugs, wires, rotor and cap about 300 miles ago opened up the Dist cap everything looks good.

It idles great, slight hesitation when its in the garage and I give the throttle linkage a twist. I move the throttle linkage so the engine is at about 2000 RPM and it seems good. However when I drive it slow at speeds under 30 MPH it seems OK. When I take it out and try to accelerate on the highway the engine is sluggish and seems like it is missing. But not backfiring or anything like that. More like a chugging. No black smoke noticed out the tailpipe while accelerating. Valve seals were replaced a little while ago but had driven it since then and it was ok. Doesn't appear to have any vacuum leaks??? Pretty sure all the vacuum lines are hooked up. Any advice would be appreciated.

Double check the job. You may have a plug wire not on all the way or a cracked spark plug.

Once again your right on the head of that on. LOL I some how had the plug wires in the firing order of a 95 5.7 Seems to be running much better. I knew I had some transmission problems as well. I am completely missing second gear. So it shifts from first to third I think that might be the Chugging problem. Not near as bad now.
