I've had this car for awhile and I've noticed that when I accelerate after the car is started, it doesn't really want to. Also the gas pedal vibrates too. This goes on for a few minutes, then it starts to act normal. I've also noticed that if I release the gas pedal then press it again, it will accelerate normally. I've asked some people at my school, and they said it could be skipping one of the cylinders. On another note: When I go up hills my gas gauge says that I'm losing gas, but a minute after I level out it goes back to normal. I'm guessing that this could fixed by adjusting the float switch?

The gas gauge is probably not part of the problem. I think the gauge is made to be slow to read level on most Fords. All mine have been. If you run at half or less the fuel is just moving in the tank and that would be fairly normal. A full tank should move around at all for a while. Just a thought on the power and throttle thing. Is the cable in place and feeling normal. In that it corrects when you try again would lead me to the cable or a TPS which may not throw a code. If it snaps out of it testing it may not give you a dependable diagnosis. It's hard to fix what isn't broken when you are checking things out. Look around for some simple stuff like vacuum hoses and wiring connections for corrosion at its age, T
