1990 honda accord

My 1990 honda accord will start with a jumpoff but it won't start without it. When I cut it off and try to start it back it doesn't start. I have checked the altenator by pulling the ground wire from the battery and it still ran. I need to know what else to check. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

More than likrely, either the battery cables are bad, or the battery needs replaced.
Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
