My 1990 chevy 1/2 ton pick up (350, 100,000 plus) will only start if you pour gas down the throttle body. it runs good but dies as soon as it uses up the gas poured in. It's been sitting for 5 years I put a new battery in it and got it started about 6 months ago and it ran good and drove good at that time. tried to start it again the other day and it does this. I'm thinking maybe the fuel filter or something like that?

Obviously, you have a fuel related problem. First step is to read the fuel pressure with an accurate gauge. With the year or this truck, I assume it is a TBI system which require 9-13 PSI. If the fuel pressure is correct, then you have to test for injector pulse using a little bulb called a noid light. If no injector pulse, then you have to test for 12v at one side of the injector with the key on. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
