My 1990 Pickup I just got (22re motor I think?) has an idle surging issue, which will eventually kill the engine after about 3 minutes.

Found this tube that's not connected to anything. Where do you guys think it goes?

I checked online for the diagram showing where all the tubes go but still can't figure it out.

Please be specific as possible. I don't know anything about cars.

Any help would be amazing, thanks guys!

You have the old 22r engine. Carbed.

I believe that vacuum hose plugs underneath the air cleaner housing. It goes to a thermo vacuum switch inside the air cleaner housing to operate the heated air cleaner vacuum motor. It probably came off when someone had the air cleaner housing off.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
