When I was going to park I heard a loud, CLUNK noise from under the hood of my car, i go to look and this big belt completly broke off, it makes the altanator, water pump, power steering, it makes all that rotate. i got a new belt that goes in there, could anyone help me out with getting a diagram of it so i can do it myself, ( will have help from a macanic) (aka a friend with alot of experince with engines)?

Helpfull hint, The belt will only fit one way and still run everything. Take some time, engines only run in one direction. the belt will fit perfectly if you think it out. Usually takes a couple of minutes to install. Hope all works out. Aaron

There should be one spring loaded pulley to get this right. There should be a diagram underhood showing you it's path. I don't have that software to post for you sorry. It can be tough to figure out how the belt should be routed without a diagram but it can be done and won't fit right if wrong, T

Good question about the direction of rotation and I don't know short of just have a helper give the engine a quick crank and watch the damper. I don't think you need to know or care as I don't think you will get that belt on anything but in the right path. It can be aggrevating to figure out without the pic/diagram. Surely you don't have time to get a new sticker so either a same engine car or perhaps ALLDATA sold here and a sponsor should have it in downloadable info about lots of things in the car and I think they cost $24.95. That may be the easy way out unless someone here can post the pic of it, T

Before you put the belt on, spin the alternator, water pump, and tensioner pulleys by hand to make sure they don't have bearing issues or you will lose another belt and most likely the device with the bad bearing. Steve
