1990 460 v8 backfiring

i have a 1990 rv made by georgie boy with a 460 v 8 7.5 liter engine in it i took it on vaction on the way home one of the belts broke and it overheated i put a new belt on it and when i tried to start it it was hard to start when it did start it ran ruf and started to back fire then stall out it turns over but hard to start and blows white smoke out of the valve pan i pulled the 4th sparkplug out and tried to start and it did not backfire but would not start just turned over please can any one help

I think I would want to know how bad it overheated 1st? Did the engine stall out & die?

it went to red and stalled out going up a hill pulling a van behind it added water to rad. and steamed bad

It sounds like you may have some mechanical damage there. I would start off with a compression test and looking at the plugs real close while you have them out, noting which plug came out of which cyl.

I'm watching this too with Sidom here. Gotta know how hard it overheated as he asked.

Am I reading right that it did start at first and now doesn't but does crank? If the case need to know if there's spark at all.

Tough dang engine. Lesser stuff it would mean big trouble but you might get lucky. Hard crank right now could just be oil got real sticky and would self correct with it running, mechanically not damaged, and new oil - synthetic please if it isn't already a lost cause.

Need more info to proceed. Smoke right away depending on how soon you got a valve cover(?) off may or may not mean nasty problems YET,

i pulled valve pan it started but was hard to start and did not back fire put valvepan back on cranked didnot start and backfired again going to pull sparkplugs to day to look at them
