I just recently did a tune-up, and installed a new battery and i am having problem starting the car. It clicks about 6 or 7 times and the engine starts to turn over but doesn't... also i have been having touble with cold hesitation...after about 30 minutes of driving it seems to be okay but still feels like i lost horsepower...any solutions or ideas would be greatly appreciated thank you

Did you mess with the timing during your tune up? Check that again.

Also check the voltage output at the battery as it's possible that a failed old one hurt your alternator.

That click is indicative of a low battery or poor connection. Single clicks then nothing are usually connections, and fluttering clicks are usually a low battery new or not.

If the car starts right up with a jump that would be telling. It stinks but there are bad new batteries, T

Yeah I changed the battery and it did the same thing but then it started it up one of the many tries...well this is my first tune-up i have ever done....so i have no idea how to mess with the timing or where to find it. Is it hard to do the timing...and do you think that may be what's wrong with my acceleration problem. thanks

Timing doesn't change much by itself on electronic ignition cars which you have. It is still where it was before you "tuned it up."

I would consider a tune up as new properly gapped spark plugs, check or replace air filter, replace fuel filter, check and or replace plug wires, cap and rotor. I generally would look around for condition of vacuum hoses and see where the timing is set at and if it's off a lot something is wrong, ooh - also clean, check or replace PCV valve, and check belts. I may have forgotten something here but if I ever notice something I would call a customer about it. An oil and filter job I consider a separate request.

This term means different things to different shops but you should have a schedule as listed in an owner's manual as to what should be done at what intervals.

Cars can go quite a while without all of these parts but not forever, T

Check you battery make sure you hooked it up red to + and black to-. also you can take the battery to autozone and have it tested. It isnt unheard of to buy a bad battery. If this doesnt fix it look down stream to the starter Autozone can also check this for you if you take it off
