I just replaced the gaskets on my intake manifold, valve covers, and carb. I removed all my vacuum hoses and replaced them, but i forgot where some went. Now when i start my truck i can only run at 1000-1200rpm, and if i let it fall down to normal idle 500-600rpm it will start to stall out. So i was wondering if anyone could tell me where the vacuum hoses go (with a diagram) or tell me what vacuum hose(s) i'm missing. Thanks.
Mike

I owned that exact vehicle and the carb and hosing was a real challenge. I had a hard time getting the choke pull offs exactly right. Also had to play with the choke heater wire or it stayed on forever as it is electrically heated.

There should be a sticker with vacuum routing if you can still read it. It's real handy to have a vacuum gauge or better yet a hand held vacuum pump with gauge so you can check out the many devices that they hold.

This may be tricky with a 22 model year old vehicle. Perhaps someone here still has some diagrams. For readers - please do yourself a favor and replace stuff like this "one at a time" not to get in this mess.

Many of the vac hose was to control the warm air pick up from manifold to air cleaner and then was shut off as it went thru a vacuum tree near the thermostat. The ones to air cleaner sensed the air temp and allowed the rear pull off to open choke a bit more. You can get away without that whole system but not the primary pull off.

Let us know how far you want or need to go with this. Is this a real fine vehicle or do you just want it to run OK?

Mine was equipped with a snow plow so I only needed it to run well when warmed up and put up with the rest. Had to alter some things to fit an hydraulic pump in. Good luck, - T

Thanks i will try to eliminate some of that and tinker with it some more. I am fixing the whole body and re-painting it. I have filled in the left side indented body line to smooth the look. It will be painted gloss black with new chrome bumpers and the rims are getting polished. The interior is getting new carpet. The idiot lights and speedo are being filled with new brighter gauges. The fuel gauge is becoming a tach and a smaller fuel gauge is going where the seat belt light is. I plan on buying a crate engine and replacing the tranny in the hope of selling it for $5000 can. I am just trying to get it running at the moment so i can practice driving before i take my road test to get my license. My test is in 7 days.
