Help ..installed new carb in my 1983 chevy 6cyc truck and it still wants to hesitate or stall when I accelerate.. starts fine and idles fine

Inspect timing,advance and for vacuum leaks.

What tests lead you to replace entire carb ? Are you doing same tests on new one ? Is it failing the same way? Reason I ask is that rebuilt carbs ,especially low end ones are often no better than what you took off. Is acell pump working ? Are the float level set right ? Is mixture right ?Check choke . Problem could be in timing , or timing chain. also check fuel pump pressure.

Yes I checked the timing and could it be the fuel pump? its getting gas to the carb but then it stutters and stalls when I try to accelerate

My first thought was the fuel pump but my 17 yr old took the carb off and lost linkage parts so I had to spend $ on rebuilt but it gets gas to carb but when I try to accelerate it stalls

I mentioned checking the fuel pump pressure . Did you check anything i mentioned ? Playing the "could it be game" can get expensive . You need to eleminate one thing at a time.
