I am not the original owner but have owned the car for 19 years. The car has sat in a garage for long periods of time without use on a few occassions during my ownership. I have been running the car regularly for over a year. The car runs rough (sputters) when cold and when warmed up. It idles fairly smoothly but is a mess at 1500rpm. Seems to smooth out at 2000rpm but not completely. I have replaced the distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires and all filters. None of my attempts have made a difference in a meaning way. There is a faint valve tap in the #1 cylinder. What would you suggest my next steps should be in trying to identify the problem?
