1972 Mustang Starting/Idling Problems

My 1972 Mustang with a 351C has trouble starting after sitting for a week or two. Once started, it runs very rough. It sounds like one of the cylinders is not firing. However, after it warms up, it runs and starts fine. It also runs fine if I drive it everyday. Once it sits for a week or two, it is difficult to start again. The wires, distributor and plugs are fine. I have heard that I may have a leaky hydraulic lifter or maybe the piston rings are worn in one cylinder. Short of a new engine, any ideas where to start?

Your fuel may be leaking back down or porous fuel lines will cause the pump to pull air instead of fuel.
