OK: I don't recall a standard condenser in an HEI distributor - it should use a module inside with probably four wires going to it - guess as I don't know what HEI what was put in a 1969 before HEI was original. It holds down with just two little bolts inside dist. If this is using a vacuum advance check that the wires to that module are ok as best you can. Vac advances can allow those wires to rub and cause problems or jus the constant motion. Usually modules either worked or didn't - not a partial or misfire but wires or connections could cause this trouble, T
