2007 Dodge Charger 3.5 H/O 106,000 miles my daughters car, will start fine and idle, but throttle woll not open, can step on pedal to the floor but will not go above idle. Usually only occurs in cold weather (i.e. single digit temps) doesnt matter if car has been run or not sometimes at start up other times will lose speed till it gets to idle. most of the time shutting the car off for several minutes will remedy problem. i was thinking throttle position sensor but id like another opinion, oh and it doesnt set a code when this happens.

I assume you have a check engine or reduced power light coming on? Get the codes read. That is a "drive by wire" system and doesn't use a conventional TPS. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

of course i can never get the problem to occur when i have vehicle, and it will never set a code that i can read, by the time i get the vehicle its always off already. i knew it was an electronic system but i thought it would still have something like a tps.

The light doesn't have to be on to store a code. You may not be able to read it with a generic code reader though. It's going to be a manufacturer specific code. It has dual TPS readings that are built into the pedal position switch.
