Search Auto Parts Search 06 C180 KOMP JERKING WHILST DRIVING Sign up here!   Email This Post Auto Repair Home>> Automotive Repair>> Engine Troubleshooting marv32 New User Oct 22, 2010, 3:10 AM Post #1 of 3 (1529 views) 06 C180 KOMP JERKING WHILST DRIVING Sign In HI PPL, MY CAR HAS RECENTLY STARTED JERKING WHILST IM DRIVING THERES ABOUT 46000 ON THE CLOCK AND I DO DO ALOT OF MOTORWAY DRIVING, NOW ALSO MY COOLANT LEVEL SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM ALTHO I'VE ADDED COOLANT.THE COOLANT PROBLEM:WHEN IM ON THE MOTORWAY THE CAR PRETTY MUCH OVERHEATS ALL THE TIME AND I USUALLY HAVE TO TURN THE HEATING ON FULL BLAST WHICH THEN BRINGS THE ENGINE TEMP BACK DOWN BUT THE JERKING WASN'T A PROB AT THIS TIME NOW WITHIN THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS THE JERKING HAS DEVELOPED ARE THE 2 RELATED? OR SOULD IT BE SOMTHING ELSE? SPARK PLUGS MAYBE? Sounds like the engine is now trying to run on a mix of fuel and water, hence the chugging. Have the cooling system pressure tested. Should show where the water is going. This way you are starting with a known problem- cure that and the chugging might go away! Now it sounds like it's getting worse.... You should probably get this taken care of before it gets real expensive......
