05 pt cruiser non turbo cam sensor code

i have an 05 pt cruiser cam sensor cuircut b code.replaced 2 times 1 parts sore 1 came from deler keep getting same code engine stutters on accelerating over 2200 rpms.non turbo modele i am thinking on replaceing computor how do i know for sure

sorry i cant recall but scanner said cam sensor (circuit b) only schematic i can find sends said cuircut to ecm/also cleaned cam and all surfaces at first install car ran fine for short period of time,now if i keep rps under 2200 can drive ok slowly anything over 2200 engine stutters/some times obd tool wont comm with car then suddenly will/whats up .

okay heres all info i havecodes po344 cam sensor cuircut a bank 1 intermitant/po344/this code po325 knock sensor bank 1 is new not present earlier.also have to turn over several times to get to start/thanks for tis forum...bobbert.

There are 4 different 2.4 turbo engines. Do you know the 8th digit of the VIN#?

The actual meaning for that code is "Intermittent Cam sensor signal loss". That doesn't necessarily mean a problem with the sensor itself. It can be a wiring issue, a connection issue or even a problem with movement of the camshaft itself. I could give you the flow chart but it's full of instructions to use a factory DRB scan tool and a lab scope so it probably wouldn't help you much. This is probably one of the hardest faults to find, even for a well equipped, experienced tech.
SYMPTOM
P0344-CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR INTERMITTENT
WHEN MONITORED
Engine running or Cranking.
SET CONDITION
When the failure counter reaches 20. One Trip Fault.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Good trip equal to zero
- Wiring harness inspection
- (K7) 5 volt supply circuit open or shorted to ground
- Tone wheel/pulse ring inspection
- Checking CKP signal with the DRBIII(R) lab
- Camshaft Position sensor
- (K44) CMP signal circuit open
- (K44) CMP signal circuit short to ground
- (K44) CMP signal circuit shorted to B+
- (K44) CMP signal circuit short to (K7) 5 volts
- PCM

as an experianced ase technician what would be your best guess? my customer wants car repaired. what componants would most likely cause this disturbance in ignition? sensors pick up anomalies what causes them.thanks again bob the hammer hampton.
