Put a fuel pressure gauge on it the night before and observe the pressure while trying to start it in the AM. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

OK, if you don't think that would be it, don't do it. This is a high pressure system that is extremely sensitive to fuel pressure, especially in colder weather when it needs a richer mixture. The pressure must remain above 55PSI at all times.

You said you had a problem when it sat overnight. I don't know what time zone you're in but I seriously doubt it's morning there.

If its in a heated shop it will start and stay running drive it what ever but if you shut it off and it cools down it will not stay running run for about 5 seconds and shut off and when i tested it when it shut off it was at 55

Leave it out and see what the pressure does in the morning as it is being started.

Excuse my ignorance just a question but why would it make a difference if i tested it right now or in the morning as it will do the same thing in the morning as right now?

This is going to be impossible if you aren't where the truck is. There is no magic answer. I could guide you through some testing but if you aren't with the truck, that isn't going to work.

Re: 02 gmc 2500 start shut off

hey guys i was surfing the web looking for solutions, AND MY TRUCK has the same problem as the one listed in this thread, it's a 94 gmc 2500 gas, newer fuel pump fuel filter, did wires, coil, cap, plug, rotor, and that lil chip under the cap 2 years ago when it was missing on spark, and with in th last 2 months It has started to act up and miss on the spark, It all started a lil while after i got a rebuilt tranny put in, 1st my speedo started to glitch out , it will work some times and other times it's bouncing around or buried at 140K,, then my truck started to sputter like it was missing on spark I discovered that if i flip the cruize control on and then off it will run fine, and then this morning the weather has got cold and it's like minus 20 I started my truck and it was idoling like Sh!t like i was missing on spark alot, so I flipped the cruize control on and off a few times and pumped the gas a bit and it started to idol good, drove it a few block to my friends house and left it running to let it warm up and then it died on its own, and now when I try to start it it will start run for 5 sec and then die, and if I start it and keep pumping the gas it will kinda stay running but is sputtering all to Sh!t, I am very stumped here and don't really know where to start, I was thinking of going with a new rotor, cap and that lil modualor chip thing that is under the cap, and also the speed sensor, SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE!!!! thanks Randy Oh and hey what was the problem of your truck listed in this thread ???????????? THANX
