Hi, 2002 Dodge Dakota 3.9 L Engine, 4 wheel drive 177,000 kilometers, or approx. 105,000 miles I bought a plow 2 years ago and an 02 Dakota came with it. It originally ran erratically and I had to replace the coil and crank position sensor to get it to run smooth. It is not licensed for the road so it sits a lot. I have since replaced the alternator and starter. The oil was changed this spring. I ran it up this summer and changed out all the brake lines as they were ripe. Had it ready for winter and running fine, put it in the garage to wait for snow. Snow flew, truck won't start. Checked a few things but found the engine sump full of fuel before I got too far. Have seen this on Medium speed diesels before but not on a gas engine....any thoughts? I'm a Marine engineer so I do most of my own work...cause I like it:)

I would put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if it's holding rest pressure. You could have an injector stuck open. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Makes sense. I checked the pump and it(the pump) does cut out and does not cut back in.

The pump is supposed to come on for 2 seconds when the key is first turned on and doesn't resume until the computer sees a cranking signal.
