My 02 Intrepid recently overheated. After allowing it to cool down, I returned and attempted to restart. When turning the key, there is no power to anything, except the oil light comes on . This is the only sign of power to the car. I have followed all visible wires to see if there was a wire that melted, but can not find a thing. I have checked all of the fuses, dash and under hood, but I am not sure how or if I should check the relays. I have also attempted to jump start, and receive no power from the jump battery. I am unsure of where to go from here.

See if the motor will turn over by hand. You may have seized it up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

"No power to anything but an oil light!" That and a jump did nothing for power? Even if engine seized up there should be power flow which has apparently ceased. Take voltage of battery at posts and battery at the outer clamps to posts too and along as somewhere there's a complete disconnect. Did coolant blow all over the place with the overheat? Do you know what caused the overheat at all? T

It wouldn't be the first time that a locked up engine was confused with a dead battery.

Understood HT. Even when if dismayed at that happening if so, the courtesy lights would still light to let you see your way out I would think? T
