01 pt cruiser keeps stalling must ride brake

2.4L 4cyl 194000 kms. Won't start unless foot on brake. Engine light on oil light on and off. Had to ride the brake to get it home. Engine sounds okay no noises I can hear. Also red light on which according to manuel has something to do with security systeme. Just bought the car not sure of history. OIl was overly filled and so I let some out.

Best place to start would probably be to get the codes pulled to see if there is any help there.....
If you could tell us what exactly that little red lights says would be helpful....
