hi there everyone it's a 2001 civic the service required light is on, is it like the check engine light can I use the OBD code reader to find the problem. thank you and God bless you all.

There's OBDI and OBDII. A 2001 is OBDII. More places are doing code reading for free if you don't have the OBDII, T

No, that's just an oil change reminder light. - Turn off the engine.
- Press and hold the SELECT/RESET button in the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch ON
- Hold the button until the indicator resets (approximately ten seconds).

If that is in fact a reminder light don't you have to reset it after you've changed oil? - T
