i have a 93 lincoln continental sig. series that needs mental help !!! No seriously the "Check DCL" comes on and flashes then goes solid on the right side of the instrument cluster when it does it blanks out eveything over there also frequently mainly at low speed or idling the oil pressure gauge which is digital will show one bar. like low pressure when its full on oil. If any one knows how to unhook the buzzer or the chime sounds so i dont get a headache when I drive would be great.

I don’t really understand what you’re asking; could you try and explain again? The oil pressure gauge is just that a pressure gauge; it’s not an oil quantity gauge. The engine maybe full of oil but if the oil pump cannot produce adequate pressure, due to a worn pump or engine components; then the gauge will show low oil pressure. It still might be a gauge issue as in the sending unit on the engine, wiring or the gauge itself is out of calibration. I would have the oil pressure tested with an external mechanical gauge. That will tell you whether it is an electrical or mechanical problem. Running an engine with low oil pressure will cause major engine damage. If you think you’re getting a headache from listening to the warning chime; it’ll be nothing compared to the one you’ll get hearing the bell on the repair facilities cash drawer opening. Dan.
