Hey there!

2005 Hyundai Elantra
2.0 L
187,000 miles

I just had my transmission custom rebuilt and now there's a P0011 code. It's idling and starting fine, but there is definitely a loss of acceleration power and there's a rough shift from 2nd to 3rd gear. Is there any reason why that code might appear after working on the transmission? I read somewhere that putting the flywheel back on a couple of teeth off can cause the code to come up. But, would that explain the loss of power, as well?

Thanks!

No, that's a camshaft code, nothing to do with the flywheel.

Is the camshaft related to the transmission in any way? I'm confused as to how this code could come up after having the transmission taken apart.

likely not related... only diagnosing and repairing the issue will answer the question,

Great, thanks.

Should I hold the mechanic liable, or should I assume it's a coincidence?

What? are you kidding me?

You have been told by 2 different techs that it has nothing to do with the transmission. Stop trying to dump your problems on other people.

I'm not trying to dump my problems onto other people! It seems fishy to me, that's all. And, frankly, I shouldn't spend $2,700 on a car repair only to get it back un-repaired.

Does the radio get bad reception? You might want to blame the trans job for that too.

This question is going nowhere and it's time to close it.
