2000 Mitsubishi Diamante ES 140,500 miles Just started getting "service engine soon" light. According to the mechanic, the code is reading 1751. He stated this means automatic transmission relay malfunction; possibly the PCM, control module, or open/shorted transmission circuit. How costly should I expect the repairs to be?

This is what it's going to take to answer that question. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Your mechanic is going to have to diagnose the problem first before determining what needs replacement or repair before giving you an estimate. There is going to be a diagnostic charge, so you might want to ask what that is. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
