Have a 98 Ford Tarus that am having problem with. Every time try to go through emission test, they turn it down due to rediness test not complete, (no) check engine light is on but when they monitor it it says not ready. Finally they told me that the keep alive memory in pcm is not holding. Have checked all fuses, have not had any battery problems, everything is working fine. When run freeze frame all shows good, monitor mode shows good, but as soon as cut car off it loses the Keep alive memory. Could anyone please give me some suggestions. Thanks Charlie

You may need to go to the PCM and check that all the power feeds (ignition & battery) are actually getting to the computer. This will mean wiring diagrams showing what, where and you are supplying power. If all the feeds are there, then you might have a bad PCM? Dan. Canadian "EH"

Thanks Dan, sorry took so long, after finally finished checking all circuits for power, ended up having to replace ecm to cure the problem, aparently came from factory this way, man that drives said never had to go through emissions where he lives and never had this problem. but it cured it, thanks much. charlie
