What is the evap solenoid and where is it located on this car? Purge control valve is located near the top of the rear valve cover mounted on a bracket. It has a red connector plugged into it. Measure the resistance of the valve to see if it has an open circuit. You can also use an external 12 volt source to power the solenoid. If it clicks when power is put to it and you can blow through the valve, the valve is good.
