96 stratus 2.4 with 138000 miles stalls out when driving. Then it will restart go awile then do it again. Ive checked the codes and found p0134,p0135,p01391 on a handheld meter. My question is what to really look for to fix this problem. Any help is very appreciated.

Thanks for giving us numbers. The P1391 is the one you should be checking out. That means the engine computer lost the signal to either the crankshaft position sensor or the camshaft position sensor at one time. If that happens, the engine will stall out or won't start. The other two codes have to do with the upstream o2 sensor. One is a heater failure code and the other has to do with the sensor's voltage not toggling. A stuck rich O2 sensor in closed loop could possibly cause stalling, but is kind of rare. You can unplug the O2 sensor to see if your stalling disappears, but I suspect that the P1391 is the one you should focus on for the stalling out issue. Start by inspecting the engine harnesses and connectors for the two sensors. If you see oil in the camshaft sensor's connector cavity, you should replace the sensor and the connector. The problem with intermittent stalling due to crank and cam signals missing is catching which signal is being lost when the problem occurs. Multimeters aren't fast enough to catch intermittent glitches, so you need an oscilloscope with data storing capability. If the problem fails hard, which means the engine doesn't restart for a longer period of time, you probably will be able to catch a signal loss with a multimeter. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
