I have a 2009 Ininity M35. The "VDC off" and "Slip" lights keep coming on and sometimes the Brake light is on at the same time. What does this mean? Also, the wood veneer on the drover's side door is coming off and cracked in a couple of spots. Anyone have that problem after just 2 years?

Not sure about interior trim problem, but you will probably need to have someone scan the ABS control unit to see what codes it could be storing. VDC is the vehicle dynamics control system. VDC is basically stability control for under and over steering. Keeps the vehicle from spinning out when going around tight curves or when you jerk the wheel real hard to avoid something. Slip light means one of two things. If the VDC off light is off and the slip light is flashing that means your vehicle is sliding and the VDC system is active. If the VDC off light is on and the slip light is on, that means there is a malfunction in the system. The brake lamp is on telling you that you have fault in the brake system that might be related to the VDC being off. You should have the brake system inspected and the ABS control unit scanned for codes to see what is going on with that. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

thanks. I guess I'll be at the dealer Saturday. If the work is not under warranty, then to a mechanic I go.

Good that means your not doing 90 mph around a hair pin curve..LOL. Slip light only blinks if the VDC system is active and is detecting that your on the verge of spinning out. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

We get stability control problems on some of the other vehicles that roll into our shop. The fun part is testing the system after a repair. We have a large grassy field that we use to try and spin the car out. Its really interesting how the system works and is able to keep the vehicle from losing control. Probably a good idea to exercise the ABS and Stability control system every once in a while in a vacant grassy lot anyway.
