2001 Silverado 3/4 ton 4x4 code C028 Sign In

My father in laws truck had the abs and parking brake light come on. It will come on for awhile and then go off. I hooked the scanner up and got code C028 It said 1. "Dynamic Rear Proportioning (DRP) Performance. 2. Dynamic Rear Proportioning Performance.

Thanks!

Are you sure about that code number?

Alldata doesn't show it for that truck.

They don't have any 2 digit codes for that year.

That's what that cheap scanner of mine brought up. I'll try the manufacturer website and see if it has anything.

Is there a c0128? I'm thinking I might've written it down wrong. I already cleared the code though. We're heading home Wednesday so hopefully it'll come back up before then.

I'll let you know once I'm certain of the code.

No C0221 is the lowest number and there isn't even a C0228.
There is a C0281 but that has to do with the brake light switch.

Re: 2001 Silverado 3/4 ton 4x4 code C028 Sign In

It didn't throw the code again before we had to head home (in-laws live in Kentucky). I sure like to know what the heck that scanner was talking about. I know I wrote the wording down correctly so maybe I can find something online to see if I can find out what code number it was. When the check engine light came on the brake light also came on so maybe it was the code C0281. He said they would both go out at the same time. I'll just tell him to go to the parts store the next time it comes on so he can get it scanned since I can't be guessing at it.

If you would've mailed me your scanner for Christmas like you were suppose to HT I wouldn't have to deal with crap like this. Cool
