01 dodge 1500 4x4 check engine code

I have a 2001 Dodge 1500 4x4 with a 5.2 liter engine. The check engine light is on and Auto zone put it on their scan and said the code is 'a'aTCC or overdrive solenoid performance condition. Sometimes the overdrive off will come on all by itself and I have to turn the truck off to reset it, mostley going down the interstate.
Explanation
vehicle at cruise speed and the ECM detected an error in the overdrive or TCC solenoid circuit.
Probable cause
Failed TCC or overdrive solenoid
open or shorted circuit condition
My question is...is this solenoid something I can get to to fix or is it inside the transmission? Thanks for your time, Paul

Could be problem with TCC solinoid, wiring or the toque converter it self. It would be nice to have the exact code if you have it(PXXXX).. I belive the TCC solinoid is attached to the valve body that means the pan, and valve body have to come off to change it. Might be a wise idea to have it diaged properly and change at a tranny shop.

The AutoZone OEM number to cross is P1740. I hope this number helps, and thanks for your help. Paul

Then refer to what I wrote above. You will have to bring it into a Trans shop/dealer in order to have it diaged properly.
