If you want to give the circuit a good load and confirm power & ground in one shot. Just hook a headlight in between the power & ground circuits, if it lights up good & bright, you've got good power AND a good ground. It would be best have a helper crank the engine over while testing for power and make double sure your test light does light up while testing.
