theft deterrent relay

My 1999 Olds 88 LS won't start. I cannot locate the "theft deterrent relay" which a variety of voltage and continuity checks strongly suggest is the problem. Two computer-sourced diagrams indicate it is under left side of dash above I/P fuse block. I have looked hard. It is not there! Where else might it be?
Details concerning the problem follow. I am "stuck" in my driveway until it is solved. I am not a mechanic, but am a reasonably capable "shade-tree" guy. The problem began one early morning a few days ago, when after completing an errand, thus warming up the vehicle, I attempted a few moments later to start the car to go to work. Nothing! No starter engagement, no solenoid clicking, nothing. Thinking this might be an ignition module problem, I disconnected battery negative and removed the module for testing. It tested okay (twice). Thinking it be the starter or its solenoid, I removed the starter. A test showed it was bad. i replaced it with a new one (What a job on this vehicle). Still nothing when the ignition switch is turned to start.
According to wiring diagrams (Fig 7 & 54) by Mitchell repair information (computer source) the ignition switch in "start" sends 12 V down the same wire, which splits to supply both sides of the theft deterrent relay. One side of the split runs through a fuse to the coil side of the theft deterrent relay, thence through the neutral switch to a "starter enable" relay in the theft deterrent module. The latter relay activates and "makes" in start, thus proving the ignition switch is okay in start. The other side of the split wire routes directly to the switch side of the theft deterrent relay, thence to the starter solenoid coil, which is not receiving voltage. The switch side ot this theft deterrent relay would thus seem to be the problem. The only other possibility I can see would be the point where the wire splits. I've not the foggiest where that may be. The wiring is of course all loomed up.
Help me locate the theft deterrent relay!
