speedometer and odometer work fine, dash lights up, when radio unit is plugged in it works but sound cuts in and out if i jiggle the unit or if it's started sometimes. fuses are all good. I'm wondering how do i fix this? (this is a used restore/salvaged '91 lx that was recently purchased. there's a dent in the rear right passenger door.) this is frustrating b/c i don't know what to do. I'm thinking would it be easier and faster to simply replace the gauges and cluster gauge wire harness from a salvage yard. will that guarantee the problem will be fixed?

i don't know if this has anything to do with it but ECU said that AT solenoid valve is not working...that's b/c the previous owner cut the wiring to the AT solenoid. will this adversely affect the tranny? the car seems to run fine as is without it.
(couldn't find this item in Haynes manual.)

also i noticed that a wire from the ignition plug was cut in the dash fuse box.

car runs but i want to get the fuel gauge at least working. can someone help me? thanks.
