rover 214i part identity Sign In

can anyone please tell me what this part is ?
http://w*************** (Sorry - it worked but had objectionalbe items there also, Tom G)
my rad fan fails to come on with it plugged in and engine overheats, when i unplug it, the fan comes on and the engine revs drop (only tried this when engine cold though)
any help would be appreciated, thanx.

That's a temp sensing switch for coolant temp and may have to do with fan and or gauge. I did have to remove you link with the pic as it's not a "G" rated place but your pic was there,

Yes it was a screw in sensor with your circle and arrow pointing to it in YOUR pic. It was the graphic smut above your pic (like ads for smut and partially graphic!) that didn't belong at this site. That could have been rotating junk on that site you used to show a pic - I believed you didn't do that on purpose.

It's ok - I tried to copy just your pic but I'm sure of what you were pointing to in YOUR pic. I'd watch out if you use that site for pic posting though! Again - is was an advertisement NOT YOU.

This site has ads up top and bottom that pay for it completely making it free for you. If I ever saw that crap on this site I'd be on the phone with the owners in a heartbeat!

Back to your troubles. Sometimes failed temp sensors or corroded plugs will default to fan off or on. Both plug and the sensor which screws into the coolant as shown are in question with your vehicle.
