LOL (sorry) But a lot of point ignition systems used some form of resistor in the primary circuit; to lower the voltage going across the points to help prevent arcing. If this Reliant has a resistor it may have shorted across itself and allowed full system voltage to the points causing them to burn out. Also If this is true the resistor may now have burnt out and there is no voltage getting to the points. With the ignition on and the points open do you have power to and through the ignition coil?
